“Virginia is for lovers” is what they’ll tell you, and they’ll also make sure you know that this state was home to a whopping 8 US presidents. Speaking of which, below you’ll find the home of Thomas Jefferson called Monticello. I’ve done three road trips to this state because there’s just so much to see. The first was a historical trip, including Washington DC. The second and third were trips through Shenandoah Valley National Park. Almost all of the pictures you see below are from Shenandoah and “Skyline Drive”, a 100 mile mountain road. Continuing South into North Carolina is the “Blue Ridge Parkway” which continues that road for another 450 miles. Like mountains? Like history? Come to Virginia!
